Mid-Summer Update: What Our Summer Students Have Been Up To!

Can you believe we are already halfway through the summer? Time flies when you're having fun on the course! If you’ve been wondering what our amazing summer students, Eva and Samantha, have been up to, it has been quite a lot.

A shoutout to PDGA Canada for their support in this initiative.

From Beginners to Mentors

When they first started, neither Eva nor Samantha had much disc golf experience. But they jumped right into the deep end! Over the last few weeks, they have grown tremendously in both their personal skills and their confidence. Today, they are equipped and excited to teach beginners all about this awesome sport.

A huge thank you to Jo Henderson (PDGA #155692)  for spending quality time with the students and helping them dial in their game!

Out in the Community

Eva and Samantha have already been making waves across the Alberta disc golf scene:

  • Tournament Support: They lent a helping hand at the Edmonton City Cup at the end of June.

  • Course Cleanups: They’ve been visiting various courses around Calgary to meet local players and help keep our community spaces clean and beautiful.

  • Content Creation: Keep an eye out for fresh content they’ve been working on to promote the sport and spread the word about our mission.

At the Alberta Youth Disc Golf Society (AYDG), our vision is to inspire and empower Alberta's youth. Through engaging activities, great resources, and inclusive community events, we strive to promote physical well-being, mental agility, and lasting social connections for young people.

Meet Us at All Sport One Day!

Want to try the sport for yourself? Come see us at All Sport One Day on August 15th! All Sport One Day | Sport Calgary | June 2026
