An exciting opportunity! For 2026, Alberta Youth Disc Golf will be applying for the Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy to hire up to TWO students for the 2026 disc golf season.
They will help with AYDG activities and tournaments, such as the 2026 AB JR Disc Golf Championship, but also can:
Be a Tournament Director, Assistant Tournament Director, or key volunteer for other disc golf tournaments – like yours!
Assist with new course setup and existing course maintenance.
Teach disc golf at schools, community organizations or other public places (e.g. parks).
Take photos/videos at events to tell the story of your event/tournament.
Setup pop-up courses as a form of introducing disc golf to neighbourhoods and communities without a local course.
Develop or assist in developing promotional materials (social media and physical; e.g. tutorial videos, hype videos, posts about an event, flyers).
Design disc golf course signage, maps or stamps for custom discs.
Assist with fundraising projects.
NEED SOME HELP?
If you have a potential need that would make use of the students in the 2026 season, send your pitch to albertayouthdg@gmail.com. Requests will be chosen based on AYDG’s needs, student skill level, availability and a desire to reach as many locations in Alberta as possible.
FUNDRAISING NEED:
We are wanting to enrich the wage for the students at least $1 more an hour above the Alberta minimum wage. We ask for your financial support to do this. Our goal is at least $1500 by mid-April 2026.
DONATIONS may be directly e-transferred to albertayouthdg@gmail.com. Indicate ‘Canada Summer Jobs 2026’ and your name or organisation name, if able to add a note. Please also follow up with an email to albertayouthdg@gmail.com advising us of the donation. Thank you!
Note: we are unable to provide tax receipts at this time.
If we are not successful in obtaining the grant or exceed our goal, any excess funds will be put towards other 2026 projects (e.g. AB JR Championship) or set aside for 2027.
